Kennicott Glacier Lodge
Rooms: The Main Lodge has 25 rooms with shared bath (showers and toilets in hallway), but sink with cold water in room. Rooms with shared bath have either glacier or mountain view and have either 1 queen bed, 2 double or 2 twin size beds. The separate south wing has 10 rooms, all with private bath, glacier view, and 2 queen size beds.

Important: If clients arrive by car, please make sure the car rental company allows to drive the McCarthy Highway as it is an unpaved road. Cars cannot be driven into McCarthy or Kennicott. Car needs to be parked at the end of the McCarthy Road / parking fee applies (approx. $10 per day / subject to change). Subject to change. Scheduled flights in bush planes available from/to Chitina. Transfers in McCarthy on arrival and departure are provided and included.

Description
Located just before the well-known scenic pull off on the hill above Homer. The unobstructed panoramic view is unsurpassed anywhere in Homer and looks over Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet and includes the volcanoes of Mt. Redoubt, Mt. Illiamna, Mt. Augustine and Mt. Douglas. The property overlooks the protected land trust under Bluff Point and the Beach of Kachemak Bay, and includes 5-star cabins that each sleep up to 5 people.
Built in 1987, the Kennicott Glacier Lodge is a replica of one of the historic Kennicott mining buildings. The lodge is decorated with photographs and personal items of miners and provides a unique and historical atmosphere. Rooms are small and simple but comfortable. The only restaurant in Kennicott is in the lodge and it features delicious home-cooked food.
Important Note: This property is only open during the summertime. Please note that the opening and closing dates are subject to change.
