Description

Your journey to Admiralty Island, the Fortress of the Bears, will begin from Juneau International Airport where you will be met by your trip leader, an experienced wilderness guide and naturalist.

The Pack Creek Bear Sanctuary is one of Alaska’s most accessible, and yet most wild, bear viewing areas. A 25-minute scenic float plane ride from the capital city of Juneau is all it takes to explore what the Tlingit Indians call Kootznoowoo, or Fortress of the Bears.

The Pack Creek Bear Tour is a premium package that allows just 2-5 people each day from early-May to mid-September the opportunity to explore some of the most prime bear country on earth and to observe these amazing animals in their natural surroundings.Your aircraft will land on the water and taxi to the beach where you will offload.

Once on the beach, you will be walking within the viewing estuary where bears are most likely to be seen foraging or fishing for salmon. A two mile roundtrip hike on a durable trail through the rainforest to the upper creek spawning grounds is also an option.

Time on the ground on Admiralty Island will be approximately five and a half hours. A box lunch and water will be provided.
